Using the Ethical Decision-Making Model (Chapter 7 – Burkhardt & Nathanial), nursing code of ethics, and the concept of advocacy as a general framework for discussion, present a healthcare dilemma. You may choose to discuss a dilemma that has recently been in the news media or one that you’ve experienced in your own practice. The nature of the healthcare dilemma may be ethically based; or politically based with an ethical component and may involve any combination of persons/products/entities (consumers, workers, organizations, legislators, courts etc.). This discussion may present for you an opportunity to reflect back on a “burning question” you may have as a nurse.
