The student will select a painting by a well-known artist and give an analysis of the work of art.

The student will identify the following aspects of the painting:

1. Identify the name of the painter and the title of the artwork.

2. Discuss the time period and style of the artwork.

3. Discuss the type of media used by the artist.

4. Give a brief synopsis of the artwork, be sure to discuss the artistic style of the painting such as his/her use of line, color, and focal areas.

5.Discuss the reasons that you selected this work of art.

6. Be sure to include a picture of the artwork with this critical analysis.
