Please watch the following videos. It is clear, that in the US, the issue of gun violence has become a perpetual problem. Two sides to more gun control include the discussion of stricter gun laws and better access to mental health treatment.

After watching the 2 videos discuss your thoughts on the issue. So far, throughout this course, we have been discussing the issue of how policy impacts families. One argument related to guns is the 2nd amendment right “to bear arms”. How do you think the 2nd amendment has had an impact on families today compared to when it was enacted? Is it possible to change the amendment? Can you give an example of how the US has done this in the past?
