Standardization
Standardization refers to the process of obtaining and analyzing data from a representative sample to make inferences about the population for which a test is intended. Scores from the tryout sample are used to form norms that allow a comparison of an individual test score to the norm of the original sample. In this way, test scorers can determine if a score is typically based on normative data. In analyzing and presenting survey results, there are standard procedures to use to ensure that appropriate measures are taken.
