The ability to advocate for a patient through the deliberate deconstruction of a healthcare issue and by articulating the policies and practices that affect the underlying issue or situation demonstrates nurses’ policy competence.

Using either Kingdon’s Policy Streams Model or Longest’s Policy Cycle Model identify a health policy or nursing care policy that you believe could benefit from the utilization of the model.
