1. For group projects I generally prefer a text message groups/GroupMe, as these are the most readily accessible, but I have also found email and canvas group chats to be as effective. My group has been communicating via email and thus far communication has run smoothly.
2. The effectiveness of virtual team interactions is a group effort, but is ultimately the responsibility of the individual participants. The group can set up guidelines and even create a chart or outline for the project with agreed upon regular due dates, but the actual effectiveness of the team relies on the individual s level of engagement to the project, and their willingness to communicate.

Establishing weekly expectations and scheduling due dates for certain tasks helps to alleviate the weekly workload of figuring out what has been completed and what needs to be accomplished going forward.
