Im trying to study for my English course and I need some help to understand this question.

Describe a visual aid that you would like to add to one of the speeches you have delivered thus far for the course: self-introduction, formative, or informative. How would you present the speech and why would you like to add a visual aid? What added benefit would this give to you as the speaker or your audience? Explain your answer.

Discussion Prompt 1:
Visual aids can really help your audience understand your words in a more effective way. For my formative speech about Gabrielle Chanel, I believe that using some visual aids would have really helped the audience.
Demonstrating different styles that I was bringing up in pictures to get a better sense of what picture my words were painting. While presenting the speech, I would definitely make sure to put slides that reference to the specific thing being mentioned. I believe that it would benefit to both me and the audience because it provides a nice demonstration for the audience, and allows the audience to be more attentive and interactive during the speech.
Discussion Prompt 2:
All of the speeches that we presented in class was beneficial to our speaking skills. I can honestly say that I feel more confident speaking in public now.
From all of my speeches, I believe that my informative speech was the best. I really enjoyed working on this speech, as Maura and I became fully interested in the topic. We were able to go visit a Polygraph testing facility, and tried out the machine ourselves. This speech was definitely one for the books.
I believe that if I was able to go back and change one of my speeches, it would be my self introduction speech. I would make sure to go back and think about something that was different. The comparison I used was of a sky, and I believe that I could’ve probably been a little more creative. I do believe that I have learned many useful things in this class, and will definitely benefit from it moving forward in our classes.

Portraits of residents in slab city would have been a visual aid I would like to add to my informative speech. I would present the speech almost the same way but I would just add a part where I talk about the residents a little bit more. I believe it would have interested my audience a bit more by actually seeing the residents of the place I was talking about. I only talked about how they lived and the history of Slab City but I gave them little personal information about the current residents living there. Seeing and learning about the actual people living there gives more meaning than just talking about the city as a whole. Instead of numbers and statistics you see faces and personalities.
My favorite speech was the biography speech about Tiger Woods. It was the most interesting to me out of all my speeches because I follow and play golf. Tiger Woods is one of my favorite golfers and I enjoyed presenting his story to the class. I would change my self introduction speech. That speech was the speech I was least prepared to deliver. There is not a specific thing I would change rather I would have liked to be more prepared.
