Part One: Students will focus on creating a developmentally appropriate group by describing the specific physical, cognitive and social/emotional, cultural changes along with common areas of concern for the age group (e.g. elderly). Students will describe common group activities and intervention likely (elderly clients are often dealing with overwhelming change, loss and deaths of loved ones for example), and identify activities and/or education that is beneficial with this age group.
Part Two: Students will focus on creating a developmentally appropriate group by describing the specific physical, cognitive and social/emotional, cultural changes along with common areas for a nonnormative developmental issue (e.g. autism). Students will describe common group activities and intervention likely (what would you be likely to cover in a group of autistic children for example), and identify activities and/or education that are beneficial with this population
