In this paper, you will return to the specific population you studied in your previous course assignments. You will identify and explain the theory of risk and resiliency that you would apply to the specific population you selected using the development of post-traumatic growth model.

Assignment Instructions

Using the model of post-traumatic growth by Tedeschi and Calhoun, imagine the risks and promotive and protective factors that could emerge from a trauma experienced by your population. You may choose the trauma. Examine the theory of risk and resiliency that you will apply to your detailed analysis of the population. Address the following in this paper:

• Analyze the belief systems, artifacts, cultural history, and traditions that support resilience relative to the risks and promotive and protective factors for population for your identified population.
• Analyze how traumatic and nontraumatic events will impact post-traumatic growth for your identified population.
• Incorporate concepts from positive psychology in explaining post-traumatic growth for this population.
• Apply a leadership and advocacy strategy to the population that promotes coping and post-traumatic growth.
• Consider each level of relationship: individual, family, and community. Each level impacts the response and opportunity of an individual to achieve individual, family, and community strength.
  • The information from the ecomap you developed for a discussion in Unit 6 will support your understanding of the relationships and the risk or protective factors an individual may have on a primary level or even secondarily with people who may not be involved in their day-to-day life. This will be helpful in understanding the options out there for support at different levels of relationship.

This paper should be 3–4 pages in length. Add a title page and references page in APA format. The information presented in this paper should be influenced by research on the specific population you chose. Highlight the theory of risk and resiliency that is most effective for supporting post-traumatic growth and coping skills in that population.
