For this assignment you are going to look a little deeper into fair trade, a specific fair trade product and how it leads to developing or further marginalizing a certain area or group of people.

Step 1: Choose a fair trade product. To do this you can look something up online or actually go into the field (a store) and find a fair trade product. Describe the product and where it is sold.

Step 2: Go to the company’s website and piece together the commodity chain of the fair trade product you chose. Describe the commodity chain.

Step 3: In your opinion, is the product actually fair? Does the product help the people/ area where its produced? How? Or does the product make the rich richer and keep the poor in poverty? How?
